Question illumination lights....difficult to change?

:attn: Well I've been looking to change out the illumination lights for the dash, door controls 4x4 knob as well as the headlight switch, and hvac controls and so on, I have done some research and found a video on youtube and found where I can get replacements(superbrightleds.com). My main concern is any major issue or concerns to be worried about. Anyone that has done this and can shed some light on this would be helpful thx!

It's actually very easy, just take out a couple screws, pull off the dash, twist the old bulbs out with a screwdriver/pliers, twist the new ones in, and put the dash back into place. There's a youtube video where the guy does it on an 08 that's very helpful.

I have watched that video a few time and seems pretty easy and shouldnt take long to do, my main concern is with some of them it seems to be that you have to get just a 3mm LED with a resistor (470ohm) and sodder the back to the board but even that seems easy given you don't have to worry about the polarity......given the Price of the LEDs its a nice cheap face lift to the crappy green! Thanks a lot

Yeah, if you want to do the headlight switch, 4wd switch, auto rear window ect there's some soldering required. I haven't done any of those yet but keep meaning to get around to it. If any bulbs don't work the first time just flip them around to reverse the polarity and you should be good to go.

Oh I almost forgot, down there on the HVAC controls if you use blue bulbs it wont shine through the red for the heat portion, I ended up using a blue bulb on each side and a white one in the middle. It looks a tiny bit off until if gets dark out if you know it's there, but once it does nobody will really notice.

In that pic those are the 2 lumen, I've since changed to the 6 all around and like it a lot better.
I'm not sure how red is gonna come out..there is a blue film covering everything back there that is kinda stuck to the inside of the gauges. The OEM bulbs are a yellow-ish color, and when they shine through the blue film that's what gives it the green color.
I'd def do a test first, I wonder if it may come out purple? Though, I've heard of some people using a q-tip and rubbing alcohol to remove the film, that should be ok but it'll just be a bit more work.
