Default 3500 - 4500 Engine Shudder

Hopefully someone here can help me out with this problem. I just installed a K&N CAI today and during the test drice afterwards the engine shudders really bad from 3500 rpm to 4500 rpm while the power noticable levels out. Once it hits 4500 rpm it takes off again with no problems. I also have a DSP installed with the 87 octane tune and am running 89 octane fuel. I reinstalled the factory tune, drove it again and it drove fine. Any one have any ideas what the problem could be? I am no expect, but I don't think the addition of a CAI would cause the engine to begin knocking all of a sudden.

Any help is appreciated. I would like to get the DS tune back on the truck, but I don't want to cause any damage either.

thanks

did you disconnect your battery to let the new A/F mixture re-learn quicker?

if you haven't, then this COULD also indicate pinging since you haven't given the ecu time to relearn.

any updates?

i agree...the pcm needs to learn the new airflow...the tables need to be reset at that rpms, so either keep driving and the pcm will learn or reset pcm...

Its the Diablo for sure.
Keep it out of your truck.

There is no way a CAI is going to cause this issue.
The fact that it stopped after you removed the tune makes sense.
You are Not the first persion that this has happened to.

I would not install a Diablo on my 2010 because of the problems I had with my 03 hemi.
Honestly man just take it out for now.
My suggestion.

Thanks for the help everyone. I reinstalled the DSP tune after driving for 75ish miles and it appears to have corrected itself.
