I am so mad at myself!!! Being the idiot that I am I managed to tap my passenger side mirror and break a part of the mirror shell. Its cold here, but I can not believe how easy it snapped off. It is just the back cover part, the glass and turn signal portions are fine. I just need the back half of the shell. For the life of me I can not find an IPB on the mirror assembly. I searched some of the online Mopar parts delears and all I can find is the individual glass or the whole mirror (which is exspensive).

Do you think the dealer can get just the back cover?

Do you guys have any other ideas?

Only 800 miles on the truck and I already jacked it up

I believe you gonna need to replace the complete mirror assembly . Search around some of your local salvage yards , you may luck out and find a used one .

I don't think the cover itself is a service part and you have to get the whole mirror assy. Have you talked to a dealer?

Have you considered chrome covers for you mirrors? I saw some on ebay recently.

Just bought chrome covers on ebay, haven't put them on yet, too cold here. They look just like the covers on the Laramie. They have 3m double stick tape on the inside.

Thats a thought . Would definitely be cheaper than replacing the mirror . If you don't like the chrome you could always paint it .

I appreciate the replies.

I am still looking for something to work.

I will call the dealer tomorrow just to make sure I can not get just the plastic backside piece.

I looked at chrome covers I think they might work. I like chrome, but I'm just not feeling them on the mirrors for some reason. Which is crazy because my Harley is covered in chrome.

I see pictures of trucks with color matched mirrors, is that a factory option or are they after market covers painted to match?

you could always scratch up the chrome covers & either paint or powder coat them to match your paint
i powder coated my Harley tanks & it looks as good as any paint job & i didn't even wet sand them

I went to the dealer this afternoon. They cannot order just the back shell. Which is crazy to me. I drove through the lot and looked at the Sports and Laramies and their mirror back shells are match painted and or chromed. Its not a painted/chrome cover that goes over their mirrors. So you know the back shells are interchangeable. So why a whole mirror? It cost $412.00 for one mirror assembly (thats my Bilstein 5100s). I think I might just get the chrome covers and see if I like them. I plan to eventually get flares so when I get those painted I might take the covers off at that point and get them painted too. Meanwhile if I come across a salvaged mirror Ill try and snatch it up.
