Default Thoughts on Exhaust change - :et me know what you think

I have been trying to decide what to do with my exhaust. I have a 2010 1500 Sport with stock exhaust. Id like to get a deeper throatier sound, while also looking for a bit of performance gain. I have been reading a lot of what guys have to say on here and it all seems to be muffler swaps, or cat-back systems. But I had an idea based on stuff guys do with nissan Titans (what I had before)

Being that the most restriction comes from the Ypipe and the muffler, what do you guys think about removing both and turning the system into true duals? Im talking about replacing the ypipe and the muffler with just two pieces of pipe from before the Y to after the muffler, where it splits back into two pipes. And then, instead of adding the muffler back in, just allowing the resonators before the tips to act as mufflers? Not sure how this will work. Titans use a dual cat system where the second one is used as a resonator. A lot of guys just pull the stock muffler and allow the second cat to act as a muffler.

Other options would be to pull the stock y and muffler and go true duals with two dynomax bullets. They sound pretty awesome.

Or just replacing the stock muffler with a CheryBomb extreme muffler which is a single in dual out. But then would either need to find a replacement Y or just deal with the stock.

Just hoping to get some input and/or advice. I dont know much about the ram exhaust setup, so anything will help.

Not sure about that. I did a new Magnaflow Y pipe in mine and replaced the muffler. The owner of the shop said it would flow way better and help keep the torque up. Here is my thread if you want to check it out. I don't know about the benefits of true duals, but I do know H-pipes help with torque and X-pipes are good for high end HP.

Not sure about the true duals. I ran a Flow Master HD 50 series on my 03 with 4 inch tips from the cat back. Sounds great and did provide a noticeable improvement in power. I also ran a Bully Dog Triple Gas programmer on it and it really came to life after that. Good luck and keep us posted.

Here's the cats outlet, so go from here out to the back!

And here is the crappy stock Y

Not a lot of room on the driver's side of the truck to work true duals, but I'm sure it could be done somehow. It's really easy to do the Y into a single 3"
