Most 04 are only averaging about 14 mpg to a tank so I doubt you will ever see 15 city

Are you comparing apples to apples ?

The people that you mentioned may have had the same engine & transmission as you
Did they also have the same rear differential ratio & the same highway tread or all terrain tread ? Did they have the stock intake & exhaust or some after market setup

Everything makes a difference

You can try doing a cooling fan conversion.

Maybe a CAI conversion.

Buy 4 hamsters and put one on the inside of each wheel, and feed them apples.

I have the same model 04 hemi quad cab and so far the best I have been getting is 12.1 avg and I only have an exhaust and drop in k&n air filter. I checked the psi on my tires too and they were all low that could help very little. My next step is to get a tune up and change the fuel injectors that might help a bit too.

Face it people, these big, heavy trucks are not goiny to get Civic fuel milage. Tuners, programmers, CAI, exhaust, and other tricks will not work, I repeat, will not work. Keep you truck tuned up, clean air filter, proper tire pressure, not carrying extra weight, and proper driving techniques are going to get the best milage. If you need more MPG after that, I suggest you trade for something smaller.

If I am gonna trade it for something else it wont be smaller it will be bigger like a 2500 Cummins diesel. Those suckers get good gas mileage from what I hear and saw and they can haul a$$. If you want to stay with Dodge trucks you could always go this route.

Cummins dont get as good of mileage as everyone thinks and the cost of maintenance will put you deeper in the hole then a Hemi
They average about 16 on more expensive fuel and they new ones are worse
12 mpg at $3.29 a gallon here or 16 at $3.99
They do move though

I had a 2007 Dodge diesel and it only did 2 mpg better while pulling my boat and not as good as my 2010 Hemi when not towing. Result less money for fuel and a lot less for maintenance.
