Default Any one else have heater defrost problems?

Finding out that my defrost/heater does not seem to be able to keep up with the cold weather around here.

Like this morning it was around -10*F, windows were lightly frosted but not too bad. I used remote start and let it run about 15 minutes before I got in.

As soon as I get in the truck all the windows fog up on the inside then freeze so that they cannot be wiped off, including the front window! I try putting the heater on window defrost full blast, but no matter how long I wait I only end up with a small clear spot the size of my fist at the very bottom of the window!

So I end up driving to work in the dark, crouched down peeking out this tiny peep hole with no way to see out the side/rear or 98% of the front wiondow!!!

THIS SUCKS!!!

Anyone else having this problem?

Hadn't heard of that before ^, I bought the truck used so is there a way to find out if the recall work has been done to it or not? Is there a record kept that any dealer can look up or something?

Yes, you can contact a dealer with your VIN number and they can tell you about any open recalls on your truck.

I've had the recall done and it seems that the defrost issue you speak about is worse now. It doesn't seem to direct as much air to the windshield as it used to.

Thanks, but I read the climate control section of my manual twice already! LOL! I tried pushing the AC button and defrost and everything, but nothing seemed to make any difference.

Maybe it's just too dang cold here!!

Bry, I haven't had your issue and it has been pretty darn cold here in New Hampshire. We've had some -30 nights. My 09 warms up and clears the windows quickly. Best of luck resolving this.
