Also, I'm not trying to discourage it but I know this was a huge mod for Dakota RT's. The problem is, I'm not sure if it's interchangeable between the dakota's 5.9 and the ram's 5.9. I know they were slightly different.

im pretty sure i answered my own question. all i really needed to know was if i can just plug it in and go or i needed a scan tool to program it to my vin. well i plugged it in and i got a "No BUS" on my odo display and almost every dash MIL light came on. so im pretty sure i do need to set it to my vin. i was able to finally find the pn and its the right one for my truck. unless someone wants to buy this thing for $300 then im going to program it to my truck. thanks guys

I actually just got my PCM replaced on my truck. Yes you will need to have it programmed. I got a new for my truck and took it it and they said all they had to do is sync up the VIN they didn't have to do any programming so they didn't charge us a dime to do it.

You have a good dealer there Ryanlee25....most will do nothing unless $$$$ are flowing in their direction.
