something in the truck sends out a constant signal and pics up the transponder in the key and allows you to hit a button and it will start without the key in the ignition because it reads that you have the key with you. I think thats what hes talking about.

No, he said something about using your finger. And there's no button.

The keys for the gen 4 rams are actually passive integrated transponders (same as the "microchips" they put in cats and dogs now). When you switch the ignition to the on position the truck emits an EM field of the appropriate frequency to activate the transponder which signals back with with a code that the ignition module reads. This means that you don't actually need a key in the ignition. You just need the key close enough to activate the ignition. You can then stick your finger into that oversized hole the key fob fits into and turn it and the engine will start. I'll try to shoot a video of it tomorrow if I remember.

The trick is, the key has to be really close and finger is kind of a lousy fit.

Since this trick should apply to all gen 4 rams I posted the video in the video section, but here is the link so you don't have to search.

The gas pedal can be "calibrated" by putting the key to run position without starting the motor and smoothly pressing the gas to the floor and releasing smoothly all in one motion. Don't know what the effect of this is or how the speed plays in, but I did it in mine. Not sure whats different, but I did it anyways

Wow, that's pretty intriguing! I wonder if it has something to do with short people not being able to push the pedal all the way to the floor. Maybe by calibrating it, full throttle is reached by how far you press the pedal down?

On mine I can pull the key out of the ignition while its still running
Kinda weird, but its definitely a good way to mess with my buddies.
