Default performance upgrades so far

So far Ive got a glass pack, edelbrock air cleaner and the superchips flash pack. Im going to do the throttle body mod as well. I already started but I had to get ready 4 work. So far the truck feels alot better performance wise. The 6 cyl will never be a power house but it is better than when it was stock. Next on my list is a cooler tstat.

any ideas on how to get more cool air into the engine bay without alot of water getting in?

If there are any areas behind the grille that are covered by panels that's one good way.

Cool, I've seen that mod. Wasn't sure if it'd make much difference with our 6 cylinders?

Thanks!

Hey could you give more details on the superchips flash. What exactly did it do? Power, mpg any different? I've looked at that before and It was like $350. I thought 350 bucks for another 2 hp. Is it even worth it?

Also the throttle Body mod. I'd be interested in doing that to my truck if you can give a nice description of what you did It would be helpful.

Thanks man these 3.9L we have are slow heavy dinosaurs of the truck world. Anything we can do to liven them up is helpful.

Pretty much any modification you can do to a 318/360 can be done to these (3.9 = 318 - 2 cylinders). Head work, a hotter cam, etc, will work just as well just on a smaller scale.

Don't under estimate the 3.9. I had one in a 98 Dakota. It was a great motor. Didn't have tons of power but it was reliable as hell. I had 180 t-stat, Autolite 3923 spark plugs, 8mm accel plug wire, accel coil, CAI, e-fan and free flow exhaust. With all that it really woke up the engine. I wish I had gotten it tuned to get more power out of it.
