Default ABS / Brake light is one while driving

So I have a 04 Dodge ram 1500 5.7L extended cab sport hemi, which i just bought a few days ago. Knowing the conditions of which i was buying it in, i was fairly cautious as to what the conditions were. Considering i know nothing about this truck i just need a little wee bit of help. SO! when im driving down the freeway or anywhere for that matter ive noticed my truck will "chime" at me and then a lovely red brake light comes up following along with the ABS light. Any idea's?? My brakes are working fine but im not sure why those lights are showing up??

I bet the speedo is starting to jump a bit or not work at all? If not yet it might... I've had the same problem on two different rams ( an '02, '04 )

99% chance it's the rear wheel speed sensor above the rear diff. right near where the drive shaft connects... It's not to hard to change, I believe it's a 10mm nut and a electrical connection...

have you tried lifting up on the brake pedal with your foot when the brake light comes on?

just a thought

This can work if only the red brake lamp is on. The ABS lamp indicates a failure that deactivates the system and stores codes in the module.

Gossemer75 is right on.....i too had this issue, including the jumping speedo, and it was indeed the rear wheel speed sensor. The part only cost $22 (Dodge part too, not a knock-off) and putting it in took about 5 minutes. They did however ding me $110 to scan and diagnose it. Total fix cost me $143 at an independent garage.
