Default New truck, New forum member, need more power

Hello!
There's so much information in here I'm on overload. I bought a 2010 Ram 1500 with the 4.7 and I need a bit more towing power. It seems like the basic mods are cold air intake, programmer, and exhaust. A couple of concerns:

voiding the factory warranty with these mods.

too much noise!

I DO NOT want noisy exhaust as I'm doing 4-5 hour trips quite a bit.
I can take an increase in noise but nothing that's going to give me a headache. Also, I know the CAI kits produce some intake noise but if I'm not wacking the throttle WFO how are they? Lastly, any recommendations on reprogrammers? Thanks all!

as for the exhaust, go with magnaflow if you dont want it too loud. or a flowmaster 50.

You wont hear the intake unless your ON IT.. other then that you cant hear any difference.

programer is up to you, I know a lot of people go with DiabloSport, but theres also super chips and bullydog.

Like most of us with the 4.7 - Its probably gonna feel like your spinning your wheels and wish you would have gone with the 5.7 hemi

Thanks for the feedback. The 5.7 would be nice but this truck was discounted so much I couldn't turn it down.

I've got a Flowmaster Super 50 Series, and it's real mellow in the cab at hwy speeds. If you want the benefits of a CAI without the WOT noise, I'd just get a high flow drop in filter & replace the resonator hat with an intake tube. I used the Airaid MIT, and am happy with the results.

Magnaflow has a 24" muffler that is real quiet but outflows the stocker by a million. Volant might have a cai for the 4.7, not sure! They do for the older ones...I would check them out

Looks like the DIY CAI, 24" Magnaflow to replace the oem muffler, and a superchips Cortex is the route I'm going to take.
