I've replaced all of the stock speakers in my truck running the dash speakers off of the stock HU and the front and rear door speakers off of a JL 4300 amp. I do not believe the dash speakers are slaves to the front door speakers because I've managed to power them independently of each other.

With my setup, if I fade the HU to the front, only the dash speakers play and when I fade it to the back the dash speakers don't play (due to the fact that I summed the signals of the front and rear doors.

Hopefully that helps you some.

Hey, will the kicker DS35 3.5" or the DS35 3- Series fit the 2011 Rams? for the fronts?

Thanks
Mark

All kinds of depth for the front dash speakers...shouldn't be a problem.

The center channel wont' fit much more depth than the factory speaker, which is 1.75". All 3 dash speakers are identical 3.5".

I just had the back door off yesterday, the mounting depth is exactly 3.25". I measured by removing the speaker, placing a straightedge against the baffle and measuring to the first obstruction (window track?). I know you can extend the baffle at least 3/8" with MDF and not hit the door panel.

I believe the fronts are much shallower, around 2.5"-2.75". I will be sure to get exact measurements when I pull that door off.

You are better off going with components (6.5") in the front door and 6X9's in the rears, IMO. Or components all around

I have to agree with this statement. I have done the same with my CC Premium alpine, not sure about the dash speakers in the non-alpine though. When I had my 2010 rc, I never touched the dash speakers, just replaced the doors and rear cabs with 6x9s and added a sub.

i know for the dash speakers the grill just pops off and you can insert the speakers that way, for the doors, do i have to take the whole door panel off or does the stock grill just pop of as well ?

Le me know about the depth of the front speakers as well whenever you get at it, If i go with the 6.5 speakers, will they just fit in or will i have to get something to hold them in ?

Thanks
Mark
