Default Exhaust design help

Okay, so I am piecing together my new exhaust system. My first question is will I see a gain going with a cat back system on the 09+ hemi's versus just replacing the muffler? There is a huge difference in price and I have been told our stock set up is pretty good.

Here's what I am thinking:

Shorty headers, Magnaflow Y-Pipe, Magnaflow hi-flow cats, Borla muffler, resonator delete

OR

Shorty headers, Magnaflow Y-Pipe, Magnaflow hi-flow cats, Borla Cat-back

Any input?

The Y-pipe is great.
I was told by someone that the cats are good enough until 500HP or so, not too sure on that but Magnaflow makes a high flow cat replacement setup with a good Y built in. Here it is..... http://www.magnaflow.com/02catalytic...irectfit=49664
This would be great with shorty headers, not sure if anyone makes them. Then weld a new muffler in, delete resonators if you want and you are done!

OR..................

American Racing Headers makes a long tube setup with high flow cats or no cats and a smooth Y-pipe all in one! They did group buy pricing for the forum, probably still good deals. Then do your catback or replacement muffler.

OR.....................

You could make your own setup like I did

This all should get you started! I'm in OKC too if you need help or want to know where the good exhaust shop is!

I hear there are shorties in the works, but far as I know Doug Thorley is the only one making a set, and they seem to have major fitment issues. You are on the right track though. Getting rid of those restrictions will help, not sure how much you'll see over stock though without major engine upgrades...

If I went with the long tube headers with the cats built in would that trip the check engine light?

Timmy, a friend of mine own sooner muffler in Edmond so I always take my stuff to him but thanks. I have a 18" magnaflow on there right now but I'm not happy with it.

It sure is. He has done all my exhaust work for the past 6-7 years and I have never left unsatisfied. What shop do you use?
