Default Something dripped on the front passenger side floor mat....

It was very cold the last couple of weeks in Dallas, and when I cleaned my truck up over the weekend and noticed that something had dripped on to the front passenger side floor mat. The substance that dripped looked like a gooey, golden brownish glue or grease. It is hard as a rock now and there is zero chance of removing it from the floor mat.
Has anyone else had this issue? I had an old mustang once and when the heater core went out, the passenger side was wet and had a bad odor. This looks like something melted onto the floor mat. I plan on taking it to the dealer and having them check it out, however, if someone could give me a clue what this might be, it might help when I take it in. Thanks

Sounds like coolant because the color you mentioned is pretty close to the color of your coolant.

I'd say take it in and have it checked.

I'll do you one better than just an idea. Tell them to check TSB 24-004-09.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customer may complain that A/C system has a hiss or whistle sound while the A/C is
operating. Customers may also notice a black patch hanging from under the dash
(mounted on the bottom of the evaporator) or even laying on the carpet. The hiss or
whistle sound is caused by the A/C expansion valve and the poor adhesion of the patch to
the evaporator.

Is this common?

Common enough for a TSB but I've only seen it a handful of times.

Yep! It is common. They will have to clean it up. Also, remove any excess that is remaining on the bottom of the hvac housing. They will be replacing your expansion valve as well. Done this repair many times.
