Default Tempreture issue

Hi all , recently i changed the radiator for my new 2006 hemi ram , i didnt find radiator for 2006 model so i fitted older model radiator , everything was ok till i noticed the temp gauge goes to 3/4 then after a while goes back little bit under the middle line and not always so i went back to the shop they say there is air with water so they did take out the air from the radiator but still the same thing so i kept going to them for 3 days and every time they do the same thing (taking out the air from radiator ) so today i went and i asked them to change the radiator cap the old one was for the old radiator and written on it 16 LBS , the new one written on it 18 LBS and after the replacing till now the temp gauge reaches little little bit over the middle line and then goes down also little bit below the middle line, so is the temp now normal and was the reason for getting high temp the cap or something else ? thanks

The cap could be part of the problem. When you say new radiator, do you mean out of the box new or from another truck?

That still seems just a tad high but if the ambient air temp where you are is high, I don't think it's cause for concern.

the weather temp is around 52 f and less now days, what do you think the problem is ? so i can tell them at the shop to solve it, and where the temp gauge should be in normal situation ( middle or lower ) ?

Since you're barely getting over the halfway mark on the gauge, you don't have a big problem. You could have a thermostat that isn't functioning properly or is broken and restricting coolant flow or even reduced flow from the water pump. Was overheating the original reason for the radiator replacement or was it leaking?

it was leaking little bit , but at that time the temp gauge where barely reach the middle then directly goes below middle, it was better than after replacing the radiator

It's possible there could still be some trapped air but the Hemi isn't nearly as prone to this problem as the 3.7/4.7 engines. Are they using a vacuum pump to remove the air in the system?

Did they install the same amount of rows for the cooling. Also there is a bleeder nut on the water pump to get the air out of the system.

no , they only open the other hose place which is sealed with rubber and put water in radiator till the water come down from the hose exit then they close it and thats it , i know its not the right way but even at the dealer they use this way no one here have a vacuum pump to remove the air
