Default Magna Charger is not the only game in town for blowers

Was looking to see what other options are out there for blowers for these trucks and found this.
http://www.procharger.com/ram.shtml
I wonder what it would take to make this system work on the truck platform.
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/product.php?p=145
Anyone out there running either of these systems and what kind of real world power gains did you see. Also I noticed that these kits are about 800-1000 less than the magna kit is.

ProCharger makes good stuff. I've known a couple of people to run them on street cars but nobody with a Ram as of yet. I'd pass on the Vortech system (even though they're damn good) since it isn't a kit specifically for the Ram. You can expect to see real world gains for 30-40% in terms of horsepower. Obviously your warranty will be long gone the minute you install one and there's the potential for catastrophic engine failure with any type boost or giggle gas but that's a chance you take to make the big HP numbers.

Right I know the potential they have but was wondering what real world numbers are out there. I also would choose the procharger over the vortech and I would never run a paxton blower. In all honestly if whipple or kenne bell would get in the game that would be my first two choices. hell even vortech has a twin screw now but not for a hemi ram. I honestly seriously doubt I would ever run a blower just because i consider the truck a work vehicle and would rather invest go fast parts in a car but I was looking just out of curiosity's sake.

At this time I would have to say Magnuson is the best option for 09-11 Ram Owners who want to use their trucks on a daily basis. The Eaton 2300 internals are very strong and allow the end user to get the low end torque the Procharger will not provide until its spooled up. Centrifugal Supercharger vs. a Twin Screw just isn't a fair comparison. Low End Torque with the weight of these vehicles is why I chose the Magnuson unit for my truck over a Procharger.

STS Turbo Kits are even cheaper i got priced 5215.50 with an intercooler and a dualstage boost controller. This is what i will eventually get. Thats with there standard tune on 7psi at 620hp or i can upgrade to 15psi at 900hp with a bigger turbo. But i would need some serious internals and drivetrain would have to be bullet proof lol.

I'm holding out for a turbo also. My buddys twin turbo gen 4 is coming along, final tuning phase. Comes in full boost quick due to t3/t4 garretts. It's seeing 420whp just at 4000 rpms on 5lbs boost. We are currently designing a water-cooled single Garrett setup for mine. If he can meet me at or below the procharger tuner kit installed from HHPracing I'll go for it. Josh is building those tuner kits for vvt 5.7 at 8lbs boost at Approx 520whp/500wtq..

8 psi is 8 psi, its all about taking the drag off the crank for free horsepower and sacrificing the bottom end grunt while the turbo(s) spool! The twin should build boost a little sooner, but a larger single can hit more peak HP! I would love a single turbo kit for mine, need lotto money!

Anything lacking in a single can be made up with a higher stall also. Quite a few gen 3 trucks in the 12s running 3200+ stalls. I believe the t3/t4 Garrett is bigger than what Hellion is offering for our trucks, not to mention the benefit of a water cooled exchanger.. HHP is a vendor/installer for both Hellion and Procharger. Choices choices

now a turbo is very nice and i would love to see a truck running one. the price mentioned above is the same for the vortech kit i found that could probably be made to fit with a lil bit o fabbing. but if i had to chose i would go turbo due to the non power robbing capabilities, and the for lack of better words easier power application to the drivetrain.
