The issue with the can-bus isn't that it doesn't communicate, I was told the head lights use a Can-Bus style therefore doesn't output the correct voltage to power the lights correctly, which creates the rare flicker in some setups.

Their are kits that are plug and play for the dodge ram, I have seen them over at another forum, they retail like $100-140. I paid $70 shipped for 2x 35 HID kits from DDM.

The relay that I am speaking of, they sell on ebay for cheap, this is what mine looks like:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H13-9...Q5fAccessories

Now, what I also want to include, the ONLY harness's I found available for our trucks, are 35w ones, the one on my truck is only 35w. So if you plan on getting the 50Watt lights, expect a flicker or some issue unless they were made for dodge rams exclusively.

I've had mine for about a month now and havent had one issue. My fogs are from DDM Tuning and my headlights are from Oracle.

Oracles are nice, I assume for the $200+ you get plug and play features. =)

I'd rather buy DDM for $30 and play with it.

CAN bus is a data communication protocol. Lights on these systems are pulse width modulated insted of having an on-off switch that sends battery voltage to the lamps.

I REALLY want some blacked-out HID headlight assemlbies, but I'm scared to try it!

I don't know ANYTHING about wiring up electrical systems, and pretty much everything I've read about it leads me to believe It's an extreme PITA!

I even went to my local auto-electronics experts to ask their oppinions, they said they've messed with a few and had nothing but headaches and problems! Said every single one they've seen around here for the gen4 Ram fogs up almost immediately, fliker, don't work in the cold, and half a dozen other problems!

Their best recomendation was basically to get the really expensive sets that come with a lifetime warranty, so that when they screw up every month or so, you can pull them out and send them in for a new set each time!!!

.....I'm doing my best to learn about this stuff, but it's pretty slow going so far. I still don't understand half the terminology being used when discussing this topic, ...haha.

Okay, I understand the harness concept, but what if you're not planning on running bi-xenon HIDs? Do you still need to go through the harness/capacitor issues?

Yes. Running xenon or bi-xenon doesn't matter.

Okay, gotcha'. I've been going through many HID threads and I have an '04 Ram that I'd like to outfit with HIDs. I did the "conversion kit" with my '03 Neon with a McCullouch HID kit and never had to do anything fancy and never had any problems. I'm just looking to find exactly what I need to do with my '04 to make everything work right.

Is there a chance you could PM me with some information? Thanks.

I'll send you a PM, so we can be specific on what you need to know.

Harness is a simple 5 wire connection, ballasts plug and play with harness, and make sure you ground all the wires. Thats it.

I am having zero issues.
