With the 3rd gen Rams HIDs do not go well with them. If you live in Canada like I do daytime running lights are a must. It is such a pain to find a HID kit that will work with the DRLs, and that is a high/low beam. There are kits that have the high beam in a halogen bulb to run as the DRLs, but you loose the HID look. So to find a kit that has a dual HID filiment ad to work with DRLs was very hard. That caused lots of problems with the kit since the Ram send pulses of power rather then a steady flow. So if you have this problem go to Retro Solutions and buy their Ram specific kit and all these problems will go away!

I went back to stock, and added driving lights instead.
The guy at Napa said a lot of people give up and return them.

I installed mine today in my 2011 ram and they work no flickering or flashing but a couple of odd things though. first the DRL's work lights come as they should, but at full brightness. and for some reason when I turn left with the DRL's on both lights go out, and when I put the right indicator on they both stay lit kind of weird.

My 4th gen needed a relay harness for the low beam circuit to run without major flickering! Here is my install, pics and videos.

I got a defective harness, but the manufacturer quickly shipped a replacement and no problems at all.

I got a bad bulb with my kit, but the company replaced it right away. Other than that, plug and play with no issues. Won't ever go back to halogen.

I have three sets of HID"s on the way.. going to try them again reluctantly. My first attempt was in an 08 Ram which worked well enough. After a while I removed them out of annoyance, replacing them with SilverStar Ultras.

If you want HID's and haven't figured it out yet, here is some advice... Don't go cheap. You really do get what you pay for in this area.

I would love to put HIDs in my truck. But I won't until a MAJOR maufacturer comes out with them. No chinese blank boxes, failed in a month, won't work reliably, etc. too much hassle and too important to mess around with IMO.....
