No Mud/sand as of now. But regular driving on road's are very smooth, much better then my toyos before. I also love the look of these coopers. It got below freezing temps where I live just recently and the roads froze over, I had perfect traction. No slips or issues.

I would go with the Nitto Trail Grapplers over the Open Country A/Ts any day. At least with the Nittos you get some sweet looking tires. The Open Country tires are pretty plain but they are a good tire. I just think the Trail Grapplers would look really good since they are a great tire as well.

Used to have 34" nitto terra grapplers on my truck before i got my trail grapplers. I loved them and they barely wore down, they were 10 ply on a 1/2 ton truck though. I have a friend that has them on a 3/4 ton deisel truck and he wasnt to happy with the wear. I have never ran toyos, but would hesatate running them because i have heard good reviews. nitto just had the sizes i was wanting with the price i wanted.

Last I knew Nitto was made by Toyo. The Nitto is a softer tread compound so they don't wear as well on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks that do alot of hauling/pulling. I have heard great things about the Trail Grapplers though. Some people here in Nebraska think the Toyo A/T's are too hard of rubber on snow and ice. My personal favorite is the Goodyear Duratrac, but will probaby get the Firestone Destination A/T, Cooper Discoverer ATR, or Hankook RF10. Right now I run the 35" BFG A/T and am not very impressed with them.

in some way shape or form i believe they are the same company. one makes them for the other or one owns the others.

Talked to one of my customers today that carries the Toyo. He told me that Nitto is made by Toyo and is a lower priced tire and is a softer compound. I guess they can't carry both lines and I didn't get the reason behind that other than basically being a conflict for some odd reason.
