Default Cai

Ok I need a straight out answer/opinion from everyone. I have been reading up on all the CAI threads and haven't gotten a for sure answer. I have been thinking about purchasing a CAI for my 2011 5.7L and want to know what is best company out, Is it worth getting and do you need to tune truck for an intake? Thanks for the help.

No tune needed, but a CAI alone wont getcha much. Combine it with a good flowing exhaust and now your talking, but its still not massive gains. Its a good platform for other mods down the line though

Not sure about on the Ram but I'll assume it's the same for most cars/trucks. I was considering it for my wife's Challenger but like you, I asked first. If it's the only mod your going to do, just get the drop in K&N filter...your really not going to see or feel the difference from what everyone said on the Challenger web site. My buddy has it on his RT and claims he doesn't feel anything or see much of an improvement on gas mileage if any.

That's not to say that if your going be putting a lot of mods on that it won't help in those cases but as a stand alone...I vote no bang for the buck.

I am still considering the same on my 2011 Powerwagon, however I did do a CAI and CatBack exhaust on my 06 Toyota Tundra and it made a hell of a difference. Tons of power and sounded great... but it certanly did not help the gas mileage, if anything it hurt it. Probably because my foot was always on the gas!
