from what i understand is when using a programmer for the first time ur your downloading ur factory program into ur programmer and reflashing the computer with a new 1 (high performance)my question is can i use a programmer on my 04 hemi then my buds 03 and my cousins 07 or are there complications such as not retrieving every 1 original program and wether the new flash works with different years.thanks in advance

Someone with more knowledge than me can verify this but I am 99.99% sure that you can only do one vehicle with a hand held tuner. My guess is it downloads your VIN to the hand held and won't tune a vehicle unless it reads that VIN. I believe they make them this way so people don't pass them around and have to go out and purchase one for themselves.

that is correct- with the Diablosport tuners (Predator and Trinity), the first thing they do is download a copy of your factory tune, which includes the VIN, so that you can restore the vehicle to stock later.

I'm not exactly sure how superchips does it, but I'm pretty sure they lock down their programmers to one vehicle at a time too.For the most part, if you want to tune more than one vehicle at a time, you have to get some professional tuning software (things on the level of Diablosport's CMR software), which will definitely cost more than a couple of Predators.

I got a predator for my 05 (sold) and put it back to stock and now plugged it in to my 04 and says:

Need to update and predator is still married to other vehicle. VIN mismatch. Predator will now reboot.

Is there a reset or menu feature on the predator I need to do? (U1737) Or do I just need to buy the USB interface to the PC and update it and all that jazz? Sorry for the thread jack

Ostranza...you'll have to call DiabloSport to unlock your Predator since it is VIN Locked to another vehicle.

Thanks MadDog. I imagine they'll charge a hefty fee for that too? Should the guys with a CMR be able to help me?

Just not a phone kinda guy. My ears are bad and left one is ringing for the last 2yrs now...I will if I have to though...
