Default limp mode no codes...

Hey everyone, I stumbled onto this site trying to search for answers to my truck woes and decided to stick around. Here it is, 2000 RAM 2wd 3.9 with 150k. Test drove it and it ran fine, bought it and before I got 2 miles from the dealer it wouldn't go over 35 mph at around 2500 rpm. Immediately had codes ran at autozone and nothing came back. Oil/filter, spark plugs/wires change later there's no change. Sounds like an exhaust manifold leak thrown in the mix. Shifts pretty hard and idles rough. Plan to reset ecm tonight and check for codes again. Catalytic converter also sounds like it's shredded inside with a couple love taps from a hammer. Any help?

Good news, replaced the catalytic converter and it runs much better. just need a new exhaust manifold and a belt and it will be running fine.
