Default rearview mirror wire identification help

I am getting ready to install a hard wire for my radar detector. I want to power it off the inside rearview mirror and was wondering if someone can identify (by color) the Ign 'Hot' and ground wire. Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm fairly certain there's no switched ignition wire in the mirror.

Well damn, that sure isnt what I wanted to hear! How does the mirror get power for the auto-dimming feature?

Ok, looks like I stand corrected. I didn't think the 12v supply was ignition switched, but it is. The wire you're looking for is a pink with a light green tracer that goes into cavity 13.

Sorry for bringing up such an old thread, but how do you actually remove the wiring harness from the back of the mirror? I've tried pushing in the obvious tab and then pulling out but it doesn't seem to budge.

Also along the lines of wiring, the switched power goes to the pink with the light green stripe, where would the black ground wire go?

I see a wiring code id information section, but where do you find the actual wiring diagrams?

Chuck,
I haven't done this on my Ram yet, don't get it until Saturday, but I have done this on every vehicle I have had for the last 5 years. What I do is take a piece of solid core wire, normally small guage (20), and solder it on to the tails of the hacked up detector cord. Then strip about a half inch of the wire, and smash it with the hammer on vise, creates a nice little spade, that you can wedge right in beside the pin connectors, has worked great, and no after effects when you are done with it.

Chris
