I would not go with the Vararam that thing is garbage. If you look at the two intake hoses that come with it they are not smooth which will disrupt the air flow. I have heard bad things about it. It does look cool and I guess if you replace those two hoses then it may be better.

If you want a really good CAI look at Airflow Innovations, they make the BFI. It takes a long time to get it but it is hands down the best intake out there. The thing is bad ass, it has a 6" tube which brings in lots of air.

Also if you want to go with a programmer then look at the Diablo Sport Predator. I have that in my truck and the thing is awesome. It gives you great tune ability which is great if you have access to a dyno.

To get the best gains from your programmer you will need to get some of the air exiting from the truck. Look into a cat back exhaust kit which will open her up. A set of headers would be really good to add on the exhaust. The throttle body spacer is a good mod only if you have a lot of mods done to the truck. It will help basically if you have a supercharger or turbo. That also goes for a ported TB.

You can also look into an underdrive pulley and an electric fan. Those are cheap mods that will give you some more hp and add to the MPG. A 180 T-Stat is also a cheap mod that helps out

You will notice some better MPGs with those add ons. The only way that works is with your foot off the metal aha. I have an exhaust, CAI and the DS Predator and I get an average of 13 MPG. Now I have 35" tires and a 6" lift which lowers the MPG. Now 17MPG sounds like the truck never goes over 2000 RPM, that is impressive almost unbelievable in a 05 Ram haha.
Truthfully i don't drive my truck everyday far all i do is use it to pick my daughter up from school and idle for like 30min a day and occasionally drive it to work, but by no means do i baby this truck!! So maybe my overhead is wrong so you know what **** IT!! i did'nt buy a HEMI RAM for gas mileage!!!

so simple yet no one is doing it...can you imagine the financial windfall..
