Default Need a better ride

When I got my 2002 Ram 1500 Quad SLT she had 69,000 miles on her already, so I've driven her for about 38,000 miles so far.

Curious one day, I decided to test-drive a 2005-6 Hemi Quad Cab Big Horn (big mistake) and couldn't help noticing the much better ride in that rig compared to mine.

So Is there anything I can do to replicate that ride in my '02? IDK...Larger rims with lower profile tires, stiffer shocks??? I just don't know what would work.

I want to get rid of the spongy wobbly-when-you-turn sloppy ride. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

BTW...I have zero mods, everything is stock and I don't know if the shocks were ever replaced in it's lifetime....I've never done it.

I think your Ram has a straight front axle , if I'm correct . The Ram you test drove should of had independent front suspension . I don't think theres much you can do to replicate that ride . You can try a shock change , but don't expect a world of difference .

My Year Ram (2002) has the independent front suspension too. That's why I was shocked at the difference in ride. 2002 was the first year for the IFS in fact.

I wasn't sure if it was or not . I've worked on some 3rd gen 2500 that were still straight front axle . I'd look into a good quality shock and see what that does for ya .

@916 Timmy...I'm afraid to try a 4th gen, because i know I'll love it and end up with another car payment

@ Tom's...I guess that's the least expensive first step. Any suggestions on a good brand?

Thanks a lot for the help. I'll have to try that option after I get my brakes done.
