Default issues with tire size

was getting a 6"lift 20x12.5 rims 35" tires for a 2003 dodge ram 4x4 slt 4.7l engine but am thinking about 37 inch tires, so I talked to the shop who will install stuff and they said only issues will be truck will be sluggish but I can install gears to fix it, was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on the 37s being on the truck, will it be alright?

You won't be anywhere close to fitting 37's on a 12" wide wheel with only a 6" lift. 35's will already be a tight squeeze on those wheels.

Personally I wouldn't run 37's on a 4.7. You'll definitely notice it being sluggish. Swapping to 4.56 gears will definitely help that but the engine is still low on power/torque to be pushing those tires.

thx Brandon, I forgot to mention there doing the 3" body lift to go with 6 inch lift. I really like the 37" tires, if I go with the gears, is there anything else I could do to boost power/torque?

Yea buy a truck with a Hemi.
Sluggish is being kind,i think a kid on a skateboard will pass you with those tires and a 4.7,lol.
You'll also get to know your local gas stations,as you probably won't pass many

Okay the 3" body lift should get you fairly close. You'll still be trimming... but it's do-able.

Gears will make the biggest difference for sure. Putting a good programmer on will help but won't be a significant improvement. Either way you'll just need to get used to a bit of a slower truck.
