I just filled up tonight and yes, there are definitely gains to be had. Where I normally fill up and I'm at the 39x range, tonight I was at 410 with 48 miles til empty. Very happy so far. Definitely worth the money for sound & fun factor as well as a few extra bucks saved.

I am attempting to build this CAI with Silicone fittings and Aluminum pipe.
I found this great site with all sorts of bends including a 90 deg. Silicone elbow:
http://www.siliconeintakes.com/

My question is, did anyone measure the exact OD of the throttle body and the air box?
I did not want to pull my truck apart to measure, only to have to put it all back together again.

Great work Krazyk, you've inspired me. I think I'm going to try this with silicone and aluminum like nerd4all, but I also wanted to remove the stock air box at some point and replace with a conical K&N filter. Any suggestions on heat shielding and mounting?

From start to finish it'll take you less than half an hour (I'm being generous). The stock stuff comes right out. I drilled the hold in the elbow for the sensor and then put it all together outside the truck. Then slide it in, tighten the straps down, and you're done.

Another tank fill up. Honestly, this does work and does make a difference. Again, going over 400 miles and still having gas in the tank. Even days when I spend so much time in stop and go traffic, I used to be in the 17mpg range and I'm now in the 19mpg range.

Are there any warranty issues with a true CAI or a budget minded one like this?

As long as you don't do anything that will damage the engine there will be no warranty issues. For example, if you were to use a cheap/crappy filter that ended up flaking apart and getting sucked into the engine resulting in damage and then take it in for warranty work, they will have a leg to stand on to fight you.
