Default upgrade side mirrors/ warning

I have a 2010 trx cc 1500 that came with the side mirrors without the turn signal lights in them. I purchased a set that came off of a new 2011 with the lights in them and installed them on my truck. The mirrors worked as far as movement and defrost but no lights. I took it to my dealer to have them flash the evic hoping it would let them turn on the light/blinker function in the mirrors. They spent nearly 3 hrs working on them to get them to work and they never could get them to work. They told me that the system was asking for a code and that since my truck did not come with them from the factory that it is not possible to turn them on. Anyone know what that code might be? I still feel like there has to be a way to turn them on, any help would be great.

This is an upgrade that I have wanted also. From what I have read, No one has succeeded. Let us know if you have any success.

I think you need one more wire in the harness to the mirrors if you add the puddle/turn lights to one with out them. Does the harness off the new mirrors have the same number of pins as the connector from the truck? Make sure to actually count the pins and not just look at the holes.

I have a 2010 1500 Sport. I just swapped out my stock mirrors for towing mirrors. I'm not sure of my codes. My stocks were heated with turn signals and puddle lamps and also had auto dimming feature. The Tow mirrors have Heat, turn signals and puddle lamps. I'm not sure if they are supposed to dim or not but they don't and I was wondering about a flash as well. I can tell you that both mirrors had the same two electrical connectors.

my '09 Quad Cab SLT build sheet reads

LEPB ext. mirrors w/ supplemental signals
LECP external mirrors courtesy lamps
GVBC all vehicles w/ power mirrors
NHJP exterior mirrors w/ heating element

ADAP light group

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was wondering about the inside auto dimming mirror, how it works, etc
i know that pushing the button on the mirror makes the little green light come on & it seems to dim the lights from the vehicles in back of me, i watched closely as i did the button pushes, i did it several times, then i realized what is actually happening
Just like the mirrors in older vehicles that had the little lever on the bottom of them, at night you moved that lever & the mirror swivels down slightly, & you were not blinded by vehicles lights that were behind you at night
the little button on our Rams does the same thing

So next time that i have some night driving to do, i am going to try pivoting my outside mirrors down to see if it removes some of the glare, i believe it will

I appreciate the replies on this issue. I talked with my dealer and told them about some of the codes I have been given on here that came off of other trucks build codes that came with the lighted mirrors. They told me that will not help because those trucks came factory with the upgrade mirrors and the evic recognises those codes. I think my dealer is kinda blowing me off after spending 3 hours the first time on this issue. My problem with that is that if a customer was thinking of buying a new truck already on the lot that had standard mirrors without lights, and said I will buy this truck if you add towing mirrors with puddle lights, you can bet they would make that change. IF you can make it work on optional tow mirrors, why cant you with these upgrade mirrors? Makes no sense to me, there has to be a way. One thing that did change when I added these mirrors over my stock ones were that they dim like my inside mirror does at night, they did this before I took the truck to the dealer to get the lights working.

so they are saying that the mirror OPTIONs have to some how be added to YOUR Rams VIN #s build specs
i think that that has to be done by the manufacturer
the dealer won't be able to do it

maybe one of the members that work for that manufacturer parts dept. can tell you how it could be done
i know that one of them tried to get a brake controller added to their build specs & ran into a snag, but, he had not given up yet
