If you primarily tow in flat land, it would be ok and you would see better economy.

Right on the dodge website, it says 3.42 is standard, optional is 3.73 and 4.10.

The kit from H&S looks good for doing this.

I plan on doing it after a while, but not too new, just incase i need warranty work done.
But if its a good truck after say 8 or 10 months i plan to do the delete.

Stock 6.7s with 3.42 are complete dogs. I went to load the skid steer onto the trailer and the trailer alone (3k lbs) started pushing the truck down the driveway while it was parked in gear with the emergency brake on. Never did pull it before the dpf delete but western pa hills and 12k lbs I was impressed, even with 3.42s. Usually pull it with a 5.9 with 3.73s or an International 4600

You wont regret doing the deletes and I too waited a while before taking the plunge, just in case something were to happen. After the j35 update and 1500+ miles, I decided to go ahead with my plans and my thinking was to delete the truck early in its life to avoid egr/dpf/turbo issues that I have heard so much about. Almost 2k on the deletes and no problems.

Although a dpf delete will up the power are you concerned about warranty? Honestly if you stay around 60mph I cant see you losing that much mpgs. Id be more concerned if I bought a truck and couldnt tow my load well than if I bought a truck and got crappier mpgs than expected my .02

Only warranty work I had done in 60k miles was for dpf related problems
Having other trucks I never did tow with the dpf because of that little scare, now it tows great and gets good mpg's
I can also tell you you can run off road fuel fine without the dpf (check engine light with the dpf)

I only deleted the dpf and cat but left the egr system intact, just unplugged. I can return the truck to stock in about 90 minutes so its not too bad. The best I could get was 16.5 mpg with the stock motor and that was having a cold air intake & 4" tailpipe installed. I added 2 to 5 mpg with the dpf & tuner and the oil stays much cleaner. The truck just runs so much better. Not really concerned about warranty work but if something serious happens I will change it back and take it in. Just like stangshcky12 said, most warranty work is emissions related.

The info I posted is straight from the Chrysler service info specs. Looks like one of them is dead wrong (can't say I'd be surprised to find out the service info is wrong since I've found errors in it before).

Deleting was a personal preference for me and isn't for everyone. I did it to increase the trucks longevity as I will keep this truck for 15+ years and didn't want to spend any time at the stealership. We dont have emissions in our state (yet) for diesels so it was an easy choice and by not deleting the egr, anyone who looks under the hood will see nothing out of the ordinary. I am thinking about making a dpf/cat look-a-like to clamp/strap around the exhaust for a stock look if emissions were to start here just in case I get stopped.
