Default 2011 BBK TB question

Hello everyone i am new to this forum and new to dodge. I just purchased a 2011 1500 Ram Crew Cab Sport and I LOVE IT. I have a few questions on performance mods. First is the BBK throttle body's they have 85 & 90MM Throttle bodys. Does anyone have these TB and what do you think of them. Also why is everyone saying the truck has electric fans? I looked and saw that my truck has a fan clutch that is belt driven. I might just very well be wrong maybe a member with a lot more nalige about this truck can help me with that question. Thanks everyone

Welcome to the Z!

Quite a few people have the 85mm TB, but you really need to have the supporting mods to get any kind of advantage out of it. The BBK TBs are literally plug and play, nothing special needs to be done to make them work, which is an absolute bonus.

With the 2011's I read that useing the 6.1litre Intake manifold is a great increase in power with the TB and CAI along with a tuner.

Unless you have alot of mods you won't see any gain between a 85 and a 90. If all your doing is common bolt ons I would stick with the 85 or get yours ported. As far as the fan question, we have a clutch and electric fan in our trucks. Removal of the clutch fan will free up some hp lost to parasitic loss but I would not do it until you have the supporting mods(180 thermo and a tuner to engage the e fan sooner). Stop by the newbie section and introduce yourself. Don't forget pics!!! Enjoy your new toy
