Default Open Door Tone/Burnt Out Turn Signal Bulb?!

Ok, I've never heard of this but then again I've only had my truck for 2 weeks. I was driving around all day with my wife and after we got in the truck after one of the last stops I started hearing an intermittent chime. So I stopped the truck in the parking lot, made sure all of the doors were closed and we redid our seat belts. Pulled out of the lot and there's the chime again. Then I went to turn into another parking lot and there's the chime. Long story short, I hear the chime every time I push on the brakes or turn on my right turn signal. We get home and my wife watches as I push on the brakes and the signals and it turns out my right rear turn signal bulb isn't working for the signal. Eventually I went to the store and bought a new bulb and installed it and verified the chime is gone.

Is this something normal?! I've never heard of a chime occurring when a bulb is burnt out!

Yes, the Rams have a 'bulb out' tone. I had my tail light ripped off a while ago and was just using boat lights until my new ones arrived. Everytime I hit the brakes or the turn signal, it'd bong at me... quite annoying.

I dont know about your 2007 but on my 2005 there is a "lamp out" light on the dash to go along with the chime. If yours has this you might look to it next time a mystery chime comes about.

I not sure where this falls in the category of progress, but -
My 2004 Ram would ding and indicated 'Lamp Out'.
My 2008 Ram would ding......no visual indicator on the dash

My 07 3500 cummins diesel has this problem with the left side rear and the bulbs are not bad. That %^&^* alarm is driving me batty.
I've tried everything to fix it, short of actually taking it to the dealer.
Any ideas!

tried fuse, bulb, wiring, brake switch, dodgebodybuilder.com, haynes manual . . .

Those rear turn signal bulbs are double filament bulbs . . . are you sure one of the filaments isn't burned out? The brake lights will still come on but the turn signal won't and you'll get the chime. It took me a few hours and a lot of research to find that out!

I have a "03 Ram 3500 4x4. The dash light indicates theat there is a "Lamp Out"! everytime it flashes, it dings 3-4 times. I've tried everything to fix it -----tried fuse, bulb, wiring, brake switch, even called a dealership (which was NO help at all). It only does this when the truck is moving, It sometimes comes on with the brakes, the turn signals, and especially on rough road. Please somebody help me!!!!
