Question New Headlights for my 98 - Any Known Issues?

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to replace the headlights on my 98 Ram 1500. I found these on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/1999-2001-DODG...2115032&sr=8-4

I have a couple questions. Has anyone had any issues when ordering headlights from Headlights Depot? There are a couple reviews there and they are pretty promising.

Also, this listing on Amazon shows that these are for a 1999-2001 truck. From what I am seeing, these should also work on my 1998, right? I thought the 98-01 models were all pretty much the same.

Thanks for your time guys. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Those are the double bulb. Those are for the Sport, not the regular Ram. I think all Ram's have a single bulb except the Sport.

This is why I post these questions on this forum first. :-)

You just saved me a LOT of pain. Much appreciated.

Now I'll have to try to find single-bulb headlights.

The ones being sold on Amazon didn't get a very good rating:

This review is from: 1994-2001 DODGE RAM HEADLIGHT RAM 94-01 COMBO COMPLETE SET: LEFT & RIGHT HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES
I purchased these headlights for my brother-in-law. His old headlights had become smoked/fogged and they weren't working very well. When he installed these headlights he ran into several problems. The headlight adjustment screws are loose, which made the headlights loose as well, once they were installed. The headlights don't adjust properly. Also, the turn signal doesn't fit tightly. He had to wrap a wire around the housing in order to get them to stay snug. He would have used his stock turn signals, but the mounting brackets for the stock turn signals don't line up with these. If you're wanting a good quality headlight, spend the extra money and buy something else.

You could always check with salvage yards. My dad picked up a set for $60

Are you replacing them because they are broken or just fogged and yellowed? If just yellowed, then try to clean them first before replacing. Buy a $2 bottle of chrome polish at WalMart and use that to clean them up. Use a paper towel, rub some on and watch them come clean in seconds.

They look fogged and yellowed. It looks like the seals have broken. I still may try the chrome polish idea though. :-)

This is the site that I bought mine from a couple of years ago. Have not had any problems with them and shipping was quick. This link is for the driver side but once you are in the site you can find the passenger's as well.

I finally bought my new headlights from Amazon.com from a vendor named "Auto Lights & Bulbs". It cost me $112 for both headlights and that includes shipping. I didn't need the turn signals as mine were fine.

I'm not much of a mechanic so was very leery of installing the headlights myself. I went to Advanced Auto Parts to see if there were any other options other than replacing them and the guy there told me to watch this video on YouTube.com:

After watching that, I decided to give it a try. I was able to install both headlights in less than an hour.

I am including pics of what my old headlights looked like and what my truck looks like with the new headlights. Its my hope that this helps other folks in making the decision to replace their own headlights or not.
