Default Tow hooks

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Sport. I have had a couple of times where I needed to hook a chain or cable up to my truck to pull it. However, I have the color molded bumper and there is no good place to hook up without damaging the paint.

I currently need to do some paint touch up from the last time I used a chain to pull the truck. I was wondering if anyone has ever found a way to install some kind of tow hooks at the front that would keep the chain or cable from messing up the finish.

Hopefully someone else on the forum has had the same issue and has a good solution.

Thanks!!!

some of the sports came with tow hooks, but they also had a different cover for them, like mine did. Mine is supposed to have them and there is two areas for them at the bottom, I think they bolt in the mounting holes for the bumper.

I wonder if anyone might have a picture of what you described or maybe a site where they might sell such an animal?

Here are the notches that should have tow hooks in them. You can get the covers from LMC and the tow hooks maybe too.

on my jeep i cut notches in the lower trim when i added the hooks. i used a hack saw to cut the plastic air damn. it was slow, but it was easy to contol the cut. and the fine teeth left a smooth look.

Finally found a forum regarding a specific question I've had for awhile! So unless those notches are cut into the bumper molding, there is no other way to mount tow hooks to a Ram with the sport package? Poor planning lol

I just cut the bumper with with a hobby knife when I put mine on. The knife left a clean cut and almost looks stock. I didn't use the factory hooks so i had to drill holes.

don't those mesh fascias remove from the plastic bumpers?
either held on by bolts or clips?

i read that the off road bumpers have the tow hook cuts outs
