Default Volant CAI with SRT 10 Hood Fitment

Newbie here, first post. I recently installed the SRT 10 hood on my 08 1500. I broke down and spent the money on the Volant cold air intake system along with the ram air scoop that is "Supposed" to fit. Once the air filter box was installed, with no problems, I started to install the ram air scoop. Well the front of the ram air scoop extends approx 1 1/2" under the hood scoop. I thought maybe I had done something wrong but things only go in one way. I called Volant technical department and was told that if it didn't fit that I should cut it to make it fit. So much for their claim for specific vehicle fitment. I have a stock Mopar steel SRT 10 hood not an aftermarket. If I cut it where I need to, to have it fit the intakes front support bar that is supposed to attach to the radiator support wont reach the intake, I'll have to modify that or fabricte a new one. Just wondering if anyone else out there has tried this system and how it went for you. Looking for some first hand experience before I break down and cut the intake down.

Thanks

Had the same issues; scoop did not line up, brackets did not reach. I returned it immediately.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Looks like this will be heading back to where I bought it. I'll probably go with the Volant CAI less the ram air scoop.
