Default Is there any such thing as a '09 "Towing Package"?

Just wondering if anyone has ever actually seen a Towing Package option listed on their '09 window sticker? And if so what options does it include.

My '09 lists a class IV hitch and Heavy Duty cooling but no "Tow Package"

I'm trying to find out if their are any factory upgrades I'm missing that would help improve my towing capability or better protect my truch while towing.

BTW, I have one of the early builds for '09

As always thanks for your comments.

My 2010 has heavy duty cooling with no hitch if that helps! I think they all do.

Having the reciever is what I think replaced the "tow package" I know that you can add tow hooks get a higer gear ratio in the rear and have the reciever hitch, that to me is an overall tow package.

This is what I found in doing a google search: The Ram won’t have an optional tow package. Every Ram will have standard tow/haul mode and 4-pin and 7-pin connectors integrated in the rear bumper, out of harm’s way.

Here is the link I found it at: http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/aut...dge/page6.html

It's funny you ask as I had thought my '09 had the "towing package". Looking over the window sticker, the only option is the Class IV Receiver Hitch, which was part of the Customer Preferred Package 26L. The heavy duty engine and trans cooler were standard for this SLT Crew Cab. Also, I have the 3.55 axle ratio. Sorry, not much help!

Thanks for the replies. This confirms what I was thinking but not sure of. I was almost hoping there was an option for uptraded trans cooler and/or oil cooler. when towing my temps are much higher that i've ever seen with other trucks.

Thanks much for the info.

I have the class IV hitch, the wiring on the bumper and the old style blue plug so I cant use the factory controller anyway I read this on and email from a guy at etrailer You may also be interested to know that the OEM brake controller is not compatible with electric over hydraulic braking systems that are becoming more prevalent on boat trailers and fifth-wheel trailers these days.
So I think I am going to shop for one the will just fit into my pocket.

I know I have all those with the exception of the HD Trans Cooler. I may have it, just dont know for sure. I also have the 3.92 rear end.

any thoughts on how I get hold of a copy of the build sheet for my truck? the Dealer perhaps?

Thanks again
