Default Where to put second battery.

Just got my amps installed 2000 watts later and im runnin into obv power issues...light dimming amp circuits shutting down due to low power. Im not too keen on capacitors and i still want to amp my door speakers. Big 3 and bigger alternator are in the plans. Anyone here run 2 batteries if so where did u put the second one really wish the 1500s had 2 battery trays.

i saw a person post that they removed the air cleaner & rerouted it to another location, using a CAI

I suggest that you upgrade your batteries, 750 CCA
you likely will have to install a battery isolator
a lot of alternators can be tweaked a bit, for more output, in my town there are 2 shops that rebuild generators, alternators, starters, etc. they also tweak the output when asked

You can install a second battery in the bed of the truck, or you can order the battery tray from a diesel and set up the 2nd battery where the stock air box would go, then you'd need to custom route your intake.

Already running a yellowtop. Plan is to toss in a kinetik powercell aswell and do the big 3 which will hopefully solve the problems.

Wheres your box going? I like the idea of putting the battery and amps under the seat. The battery can sit in the well with only the top showing. And all the wires can be put underneith that top covering piece.

Having a battery in the cab isn't the best idea when it comes to safety. If it shorts then you're more likely to have a fire in the passenger space. Also, when charging, you can develop toxic fumes... again, not a good thing in an enclosed space. Powercells are put in passenger cabins all the time, I know this, doesn't mean it's a great practise.

Never thought about that...... I saw it once in a Ram and just thought it looked cool. Good info to know.

I mounted mine under the truck between the frame rails right behind the rear of the cab

I built a bracket for a battery box and bolted it to the frame rail worked great

I do have it on an isolater so it doesn't drain the starting battery
