Just need to be careful alot of the aftermarket "open" filters, that aren't in an enclosed box will improve hp when the hood is open and cold on the dyno, but in real life the temps under the hood are hot and it can hurt hp. This is why I chose a drop in filter with just the jr. kit from airaid (I don't think they make them anymore). I'm very happy with this especially for how inexpensive it was, and I bet it makes the same difference if not better as the "open" type ones (since the stock box is sealed). Now I think volant is a sealed box, those probably make a good difference. I know I'm 4.7L but whatever...

timmy, why not do a drop in filter and just a tube? or are you looking for some bling I also am going to buy the S&B scoop and try to get it to work with my intake. If I can work that out I'd have a very good intake with the ram air and all.

You ought to just make one! No need to spend all the money on a full kit when all you need is a tube. My friend and I are talking about making one for his RT, he is just going to get a drop in as well.
