Agreed, you can send your heads in for the P&P or you can order the set and pay the core then send your to him. Couple that with a cam at the same time, you'll be looking at a good sized jump in power.

I would look into re gearing first then cam/heads.

You could also do a underdrive pulley coupled with a e fan conversion and a 180 t stat. That should free up several horses for pretty cheap.

Second that... also smaller rims and tires will make a huge differance in performance i would also look into new gears 4.10 or 4.56. The Sonnax Line Pressure boster is a nice cheap addition also.

i also already have the 180 t-stat and e-fan thanks tho. i think i remember reading somewhere that underdrive pulleys have been an issue in the past for the hemis? not sure where i read that tho

when the shift firmness increases could that damage the transmission or cause more wear for the drivetrain?

Basically if you want to stick with the 5.7, you want to do everything that I have done to mine...

cam, big valve heads, BIG cai, ported tb, efan, 180 tstat, 20 percent underdrive pulley, lt headers, cat deletes, dual cutouts, true dual exhaust to muffler dumped over axle, diablo with custom tune, stall tq converter, shiftkit, gears, caltracs traction bars...

it was the motoblue brand and it only affected the 03's with the weak toner ring...
