A roger beep is usless and is a pain in the keester to the ones that have to listen to it. It is a splash over from ham radio usage to replace the "over" at the end of your conversation. I turn the radio off untill the beep is out of range.

As to your question about my antenna mount on the roof, the lead in runs above the headliner and down the B pillar.

Me and all my buddies run cb's
I have a small uniden between the passenger seat and center consol. Ran the power cord to the cig lighter in the consol and ran the coax under the seat and out the back passenger door.
We use them mostly when were 4 wheelin but there nice when we all go places and I like having it for my ride to school

Was it very hard to get the headliner down? I've been a bit nervous to take mine down.

The key words are SLOW & CAREFUL!!!

I removed the C pillar and rear trim and the drivers B pillar trim. Work with the "key words" and tilt the headliner down to the rear and left, I did not remove it, it will bend a LITTLE but not sharp. I worked through the rear window and third brake light to locate where to drill and install the antenna. Route the cable and in about 3 hours I had it back together.

Be sure to use an antenna that is easy to remove, for something not built high enough for a truck.

I don't expect many people want a hole in their roof if they have a new vehicle
my Ram is also my main source of income, a CB is required

here is my antenna, notice is not in the center of the cab, there is wide center support where the center post is, mine went just behind that post support

GT, mine is just about the same spot as yours. I also went behind the cross brace. Ground plane wise, they are so close to perfect. The other good thing is that it is high and long. That is why I said to lower the headliner to locate where to drill.

As for the hole in the roof, like I have said before, it's my truck and I want it my way.

Loudness of a CB has nothing to do with performance. What you want is a radio that gets out. I still have two radioes from when I was working and they are export radios and that is what you want. A good radio would have AM/FM, uppers and lowers, upper and lower sideband, that is a radio you would enjoy.
