Default gas overflow

my 2011 big horn will blow back about 1 pint of gas from the tank every time i gas up. when the pump kicks off it will squirt the gas out. have only been a ram owner for a couple weeks and wonder if this is a common problem. thanks

Really a pint of gas? That's A LOT!!! But I would say that is definitely not normal and something that should be checked out. It could be something like the purge valve being stuck closed and not allowing air to escape into the vapor canister.

Most Dodge vehicles have a slow fill at the top end of the tank. When filling I normally listen to the sound of when it is getting full and ease up on the pump when the sound begins to change.

I had that problem with my 10 Ram, dealer had to change out the tank as the vent was plugged from the factory. I believe you will find several threads on here regarding gas tank vent problems. You may want to ask your dealer about it. See if they will do a good will repair.

Did you try a different pump. I had one local place I liked and they changed their pump handles then it started over flowing every time. I changed to a different station and never had another problem
