As you may have already noticed, there are many different factors to take into consideration when asking about mpg. The year is a big factor, newer will have better mpg due to advancements. Different gears can affect it as well. And here in Iowa where the weather changes in seconds the weather is a big deal as well and when talking weather you can look into tires and upgrades too. My 2003 Ram 1500 gets 11-14 city/gravel/winter and highway 16-18, Hope this helps!

Default Whats interesting is 03,04 & missing 05

As opposed to MDS light/HD 1500/2500 trucks 06 and above. Interesting to me since I'm in the wings awaiting final touches at the shop, prior to first trip out for an 05.

Good thread history. R...

Have any of you all tried a cover; get some of that air out of your beds. I had one on my old F1-50 before I traded and was so spoiled with having one that I purchased a tri-fold for my 2010 RAM Laramie. Running the same trip as I did with that Ford (04/5.4 Tri); I picked up 70 more mile on the Hwy before my light came on! Now that was holding around 75 and seeing 80 every so often. Tri-fold from Mustang close to 1000.00
Ready to start work on my (02) 5.9; 4X4. I got a K&N Cold air, headers, magna flows (6 months ago),fresh belt, and tune-up. I got some OEM drilled and slotted rotors for 20in wheels and higher from R1Concepts for 385.00; they do great work; I purchased some for the Ford and changed pads once in 4 1/2 years (everyday driving). I was also told about a tuning alternative instead of having to replace the chip. Also; if you have a cold air intake, you might want to get one of those sleeves for it to keep the air flowing into the engine cool!

Default I got much better!

I had a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 w/a 5.7 just a two wheel drive.

-Banks cat back exhaust
-AEM intake
-E3 spark plugs
-Superchips flashpaq tuner
-tonnue cover

Best I ever got was 22.5 MPG. Easy on the petal.

'13 Hemi 4x4 with 3.55, 15-17mpg city, 19-21mpg highway in the summer. Winter time it drops down 2-4mpg for each, drops down to 11mpg when towing the snowmobile trailer around Wisconsin.
