Default Overload Bags for a 1500 MegaCab 2wd

Hey Guys,

Looking to get some overload bags for my 2006 MC 1500. I am a little confused due to the fact that I have a 1/2ton truck on a 3/4ton (MegaCab) chassis. The guy at 4Wheel Parts tells me I need the kit for the 1/2ton, not realizing I have the big chassis.

Anyone have some input on this? The kit says its a bolt in for my truck, but I havent seen any holes in the frame that look like they line up with the brackets in the picture.

Thanks, Bash

Anything that deals with the frame, suspension, or drivetrain should be ordered as a 2500. I just installed my Firestone Level-rite shocks last night and I ordered them for a 2500 and they fit perfect. No problems.

I would also try getting the P/N directly the helper bag manufacturer's website and then talking to the retailers.

Yeah, not having a lot of luck with the manufacturers.

The 1/2ton, 2wd MegaCab is an odd duck as it is a 1500 with a 2500 chassis. Add to that the fact that rear axle has been flipped, so the brackets that are made to fit the 2500 go under the chassis and therefor put the bag mounts too close together.

I am looking at the Firestone Ride Rite 2071. It is for an older truck and I will have to drill holes for the upper bracket. Not that big of a deal.

Thanks for the help
