Default Noob is getting MODS... could use help please.

ok so here it is, i finally have my Hemi.... i have questions and need some help so im headed in the right direction.... Autoanything.com is the site i have been shown and beyond that im pretty clueless..

1st for the CIA i was thinking K&N 77 Series Metal Intake Kit it seems like a pretty good one, please let me know if anything is better for the buck or a different series has better performance.

2nd i am looking to get a tuner as well, i hear Diable is pretty dang good, the only thing i have questions about is people say you have to have windows 7 to get the latest updates is that true?? and a special cord to connect it to your computer that doesn't come with it?? is there another turner that is close to Diablo? when you attach the tuner do you have to answer specific questions about your vehicle or do you just choose which performance mode you want and it automatically loads? and does it turn the MDS off or do i have to choose too?

3rd i will be getting headers after my buddies shop is finished, until then which is the way to go as far as exhaust is concerned?? im pretty clueless there as well, i would like a nice sound, not over bearing but performance is what im looking for in the long run. i hear Bassani headers are the way to go.

i know im asking a lot but i dont want to ruin the nice truck i just bought and i would like a nice combination of parts to complement one another.

thank you in advace

First of all Welcome to the forum, To answer the questions I run the Mopar CAI with the metal tube and I like it. Everyone has thier own preferences. Tuners are another, I have the Diablo Sport and love it, yes you do have to buy a seperate cable to download from your home computer but it is only $40 or so. Easy to down load tune and to custumize them to your specific needs, It is truly awesome (my opinion). Last question is headers and I am running a set of OBX long tubes with high flow cats that dump into a Banks 3" Monster exhaust system and the sound is just how I like it, nice low rumble until you stick your foot into it and then she screams.

Anyways that is what I am running but there are alot of guys on hear with different setups so you will get a good crosssection of advice.

Hope this helps

just so im understanding the exhaust system correctly, i know the headers are their own separate part, but after that i get a little confused, your High Flow cats are also a seperate part?? and the Monster Exhaust is separate as well after the cats?? told you i was a noob LOL ... and would it make sense to add high flow cats and an exhaust at the same time before i get my headers??

Exhaust is simple just think of it in sections from the engine. Headers first then to Catylitic Converters or "Cats" to a Y-Pipe then a long mid-pipe to the Muffler finished of with tailpipes and tips. Personally i would get a "Cat Back" first when doing exhaust work. In this case refering to our trucks its the section comprised of the muffler, tailpipes and tips. If you are looking for a "Good" set of Headers i would look at Dynatech, American Racing Headers, and OBX. These all include a redesigned y-pipe that is larger and has less drag in the bends. Also these are all Longtube Headers. Bassani's are short tube headers more torque less HP long tubes give more HP a little less torque

Id second the varram over the K+N if you ask me they are overpriced volant makes a better one imho and airraids is cheaper. As for programmers you cant really go wrong w/ diablo or superchips SCT if im not mistaken is a little more expensive but you can get more outta it
