that Vararam does look pretty sweet but do you have to have the scoop in your hood for the Vararam to work properly?? i wasnt really sure about that, i saw that the Ram Air part goes down by the grill but i didnt know if that was the only place it needed to take air from.

I have both the Bfi and the vararam...I install them based on my mood, lol I kinda like the Bfi better because i can still work on the motor without removing it (like changing plugs for example)...the vararam is sexy to look at though, I run my tubes to the foglight opennings.

like others have said, the exhaust is probably broken down into 3 sections, headers, downpipe to cats (..or catless), and the rest of the exhaust after the cats (catback system)... most start with a catback system first (or simple muffler replacement), I like a quiet muscular tone myself, but, I have the option to go loud with cutouts. So I have a big 22" muffler dumped after axle which is quieter then piping to stock exit point.

how it sounds at idle..

and how it performs..

I've run superchips as well as Diablo..both excellent tuners. my rule of thumb, if your gonna mod with a cam or more, do the diablo because you can cutom tune. If just bolt-ons like cai and exhaust, do superchips (they have a better handle on tranny control)

also, a simple 9 pin serial cable works for connection to a pc..the cable isn't custom just for diablo.. i used the same cable for superchips as well (I think, it's been awhile)

I have Volant myself but I think you can go with anything and be okay. Just make sure you get an oil free filter. As far as tuners go chefred is right. Both have their pros and cons. Choose based on your personal setup. I went with american racing long tube headers and a 18 inch magnaflow muffler currently but I am redoing the muffler and tip. There is a huge difference in performance with the headers. Loud but not obnoxious and still quiet at cruising rpms. Definately the best mod I've done so far...

If you want to meet up locally pm me for info on the local mopar club.

I would check your local craigslist for some parts too, I just recently picked up my Mopar CAI for 75 bucks! Looks awesome and performs great, only issue was my mounting bracket. As far as my exhaust I wanted loud and mean, so mine is a single 3inch straight pipe from the cat back and I fricken love it!!!!

i love all the advice, i think Super Chip is the way i will go, i really am just looking for some simple bolt on performance boosting parts. i cant wait for my headers, my buddies shop should be finished in a few months so i think the CIA and CHIP will hold me over until then. now i just have to find the right prices. AUTOANYTHING.com is the sight i look at, do you guys have any other suggestions for good deals with quality sellers??
