Default MDS off after header install

I have a '11 cc and just had my ARH lt's installed. I'm putting in the O2 simulators this weekend so currently I have a cel. My MDS also won't come on. My question is will the MDS system disengage when a cel is present or did they mess something up?

The O2 sensor fault could be causing issue swith the MDS, I can see this happening, but i'm not 100% on it. Best thing would be to see if it kicks back in after the simulators have been installed. Do the AR Headers not come with O2 extentions or did you delete the cats as well?

I got a day off work and decided to had them done but my other parts were still being shipped. I'll put on the O2 sims this weekend and hope for the best. The AR kit came with wiring extensions but not O2 extensions.

Those wiring extension are the O2 extensions the cats got moved back so you need those extensions to hook up the O2 sensors properly.

Maybe I can be clearer with what I am trying to say. I had the AR headers professionally installed Wednesday. All O2 sensors are hooked up using the provided extensions. The truck runs and operates as it should. I have a check engine light from the rear O2 sensors. There are no programmers for the 11 ram currently so I cannot program this code out. The only way I can get rid of the code currently is with a O2 extension or spark plug deflowler on the rear bank O2 sensor connected between it and the midpipe. I am hoping to have this part in today and install this weekend. Since the install my MDS has been inoperable. I was wondering if this is from the O2 check engine light or something else that I need to get addressed immediately. Aside from that the truck runs great and performs much better than before

Well they haven't come in yet. I might be the only one to do headers without a tune so I don't know if this is a common problem. Hopefully the parts will be here soon and I can get rid of that pesky check engine light.

Dont worry about your MDS it will work with or without codes.
Sometimes the eco light does not come on.

Once you get your 02 sims hooked up,disconnect the battery cables and touch them together for at least 20 seconds.
This will allow your ecm to reset and will relearn your o2 sensors, but it will reset your radio presets also.
If your radio does not reset you did not do it long enuff.
if you have your sims installed and still getting codes you most likely have an exhaust leak.
You have to get rid of the stock muffler to really get the extra power and mileage from the headers.
Your truck does not need a tune with a programmer to run good.

Hey guys,

I'm concerned! I just ordered American Racing Long Tubes for my 2011 5.7, and I don't want any BS with codes and such. Has American Racing corrected this issue? Please let me know before I attempt the install.
