yes you can do the TB mod in the 5.2L. and yes after you do that it will try and suck more air.

This is what I had to do to get it to fit... first put the bottom pan on, then put the air filter on, then put your threaded rod in. Last put your top pan on along with the nut. It takes some persuasion but it can work.

Alright, I'm having problems doing this mod as well, I've had to go and purchase a air intake spacer (1") because the bottom pan wouldn't clear the throttle cable, and TB sensors. Now I can't get the "S" bolt tall enough to thread the wing nut on top. Has this been a problem for any one else out there?

is the bottom plate on yours flat? or does it go down farther than where it sits on the TB? Mine is flat and i ended up going with a shorter air filter. a 14x1 at the moment because that's all they had at the local napa, plan on putting a 14x2 on at a later point in time.

No the bottom plate on mine is not flat. I've looked at several different 14x3's at 3 different parts stores and they're all the same here, goes down further than where it sits on the TB. Kind of a pain in the A$$, but I think all I need to do now is find a 1/4" bolt 3 1/2"-4" long. The good news is I don't have to heat up and bend the bolt, it is already centered in the middle for me.

Another question I forgot to ask, What is the inlet size for the breather you guys are installing on the passenger side valve cover? And how are you removing the stock one with the line that goes to the oem air box? I was prying pretty good on it and it just keeps spinning around.

I had the same problem but backwards. It would slide in and out the hose fitting easily with a bit of pressure but where it connected to the pcv valve it would just rotate no matter how hard I would pull.

So...how did you get the connection to the pcv valve loose?
