with the pcv valve... just take it and move the hose out of the way. unless you are looking for the "clean" look then go the the parts store and buy a $15 k&N crankcase breather. if im not mistaken i believe most are the same inlet size. i just moved my hose out of the way.

Good call man, I'd like to keep it lookin clean. I'm just not sure of the inlet size for the breather, rather be sure of what I need before I start tearing the old set-up apart again. I started to put in my 14x3 just to find that I needed to buy an intake riser so the bottom pan would clear the throttle linkage. Then, at the 2nd attempt realized my "s" bolt isn't tall enough to meet the wingnut at the top of the filter. LOL. I guess that's why they call it modding!

Thats how we all learn by trial and error. I lost count on how many times I ended up driving back and forth to the autoparts store when modding my heads lol and for the smallest things to. Your best bet would be to get the breather and buy a universal "o ring breather kit" that hugs the neck and compinsates for the slack, take your pcv valve in with you and make sure the breathers not bigger than the valve. If still not sure ask at the counter that should solve your worries

Can someone make a parts list for this mod??? Or is it different for different years?? I'm confused on what fits, what doesn't.

well guys i ran a couple full tanks through the truck and came up with a decent number in my opinion. the first tank that i ran through i was really hard on the gas and made it go whether it wanted to or not. i ended up with about 14.5 MPG. this last tank i ran through it i was really easy on it, (most of the time) and i spent alot of the time on the highway, 55mph or more. the truck ended up at about 17.5 mpg. oh andf by the way, if anyone hasnt done this mod yet...... what are you waiting for, its cheap easy and the sound of it is killer! i guess the gas milage is good too!

Here, maybe this will help. Obviously the 14x3 air cleaner of choice ;K&N, Edelbrock.
If you don't have a TB spacer you will need an intake riser 1" in order to clear your throttle linkage and sensors on the TB.
You'll need a 1/4" threaded bolt approx. 5" in length max to put it all together to the TB. (there is already a hole in the TB to support this) The only guess work to my knowledge is that on some of our trucks you have to put a bend in the bolt in order to get it to center the tb properly. I lucked out and mine was already centered.
Finally you'll have to change out your crankcase breather on the passenger side valve cover.
I hope this helps, I still have to get a larger bolt and a crankcase breather.

Yes this helps, thanks a lot!

One more quick question. Are you guys using a flat or recessed base on the bottom of the air cleaner?
