Default Custom Intake

Hey, I'm thinking about making a custom intake and I was wondering a couple things. First, other than a metal one, I've seen PVC pipe, anything else anyone would recommend?

Also, I notice most people just take it off toward the passenger side. I was looking closer at the inside of my engine, and noticed that the radiator doesn't actually cover all of the grill, and that there is a hard plastic covering part of it on the drivers side. Anyone ever think of taking it over to that side, cutting though the plastic have the intake pull that air in?

well the reason they run it to the passenger side of the truck is because their is mounts on that side and it's easier to run it that way, and i dont think you can run it on the driver side, because the A/C Condenser would be in the way, and as far as metal or PVC thats up to you

I was looking at it and didn't think there would be a problem getting around the engine. But the point's moot, took a second look and somehow on that first look I missed that big tube (even though I noticed the pipes leaving the radiator, and had dismissed the passenger side).

And I was wondering if there was anyother material that people had tried, I'm leaning toward the PVC and the moment

i mean you have enough tubing and make mounting brackets you could run it to the driver side, you could also do a dual type intake, but it just be easier to run it to the passenger side and try to pull in air around your fog light area

I'd say PVC would be the way to go....It will stay at a cooler temp than a metal one would.
