35x12.5 on stock wheel will probably rub on your control arms a little at full turn.
A leveling spring will ride nicer but spacers are MUCH cheaper and with an extended shock you wont sacrifice much ride quality.
I have a Hell Bent Steel leveling kit and am very happy with it (http://www.hellbentsteel.com/product...ling-kits.html)
$65 2" shipped,couldnt beat it
Not your body style but 2"leveling kit and 35's on 17" stockers w/spacers

i can get a set of 2.5 skyjacker lift springs at summit racing for $195. do i need spacers if i run a 35" tire on my stock 16s? money isnt a prob cause not going with a big lift.I had spacers on my 95 ram an didnt like them much.

I fit 35's on that 2500 without any leveling kit actually.
What your gonna run into is rubbing on the lower control arm at full turn probably.
With the quad cab long bed I needed the full turn radius so I brought the tires out some with wheel spacers.
When you bring the tires out they rub on the lower fender near the door instead, so a leveling kit fixes that.
If your ok with a little bit of rubbing a 2.5" leveling kit will give the truck a great stance with 35's on stock wheels.
Before you order your springs you should measure from the center of you axle to the lip of the wheel well to see if you need a 2.5" or a 2" will do the job.
2" on mine his the front sit close to .5" higher in the front then the back now.
I dont know anything about the skyjacker leveling springs but from other skyjacker suspension products I've used there great products

With stock wheels 35x12.5s will probably rub on the inside of you wheel well on the lower control arm just because of the width of the tire(narrow wheel and no offset compared to an aftermarket wheel) Sitting stock thats where it will probably rub.
If you had a larger offset/wider aftermarket wheel you would rub on the fender like your 1500 had.
You could run 35's on stock wheels with or with out a leveling kit and it will still rub on the same spot on the lower control arm
