Default think i made an oops

i just ordered 305/55/20 nitto trail grapplers
i have 2010 ram 1500 with bilstein level kit
stock 20 inch wheels and i was told they would fit but now reading i see i might need a spacer 1/4 inch? what would be my best/safest spacer choice or any ideas.. i could return tires and go a different size, or anyone have better advice. all i really want is larger than stock with some AT or MT style
thanks - jake

i have a 2in leveling kit on my truck, i just put on 305 55 20 mickey thompson baja atz LT tires and they do rub at full lock BUT even though they are the "SAME" size by number, there is a differance baja's have a WAY MORE AGRESSIVE and bigger tread pattern, plus they are LT, i think you will be fine. ive read on this site a lot of guys have nittos with the same set up u have and they are fine. i am getting new wheels with a 0 offset which should eliminate the rubbing. i dont trust spacers, dont know why but i dont

Not sure if this will help but I am running 305/55/20 Hankook Dynapro ATM's without any issues. I don't have the levelling kit but I also don't have any spacers.

thanks for the info. I have read that the sidebitters on the nitto will rub. if I can stop the tire shipment before they leave I will probably change my order. if not I will try and mount one up and see how it rolls. if it works I will share all the info and pics

I talked to a guy at Discount Tire
he told me that they don't deal with spacers
I asked him why, he said that they just don't
then i asked him why they didn't just put on longer studs when a spacer was needed
he then said that they would then put on spacers, because using the regular studs would not allow enough threads to stick out of the lug nuts & it would be considered unsafe

i thought to myself, GEEZ make up your mind, first you don't deal with spacers & then you will

I replaced the factory 275/60/20's with Cooper Zeon LTZ tires of the same size and they rub at full turn. The Goodyears are smaller than a real 275/60 at 33" and they are also much lighter. Junk Goodyears!

I looked at wheeladaptor.com and think I'll give them a shot with a 8mm spacer if I can't get the order changed. and a continued thanks for
the info and for the heck of it I let the goodyears burn at a few stops tonight. traction control was not happy haha

I have 305/55/20 hankooks on mine but I added them with new rims as well. They were 0 offset versus the 19mm offset the factory rims provide. I had a very very slight rub at full turn to the left only. Once I leveled out my truck that went away though. I think you will be fine with the new tires since you already have a leveling kit. Try it first without a spacer and then use them as a last resort. My dealership recommended against spacers as well but I never asked why since that gave me an excuse for new rims. lol
